Where he lives: Twentynine Palms
Where he works: Advanced Electronics Course instructor, Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School
Relayer since: 2011
Relay role: 2013 Logistics Subcommittee chairman and team captain. “Diane needed a guppy, and I swam into the net,” he jokes about agreeing to handle logistics at the behest of 2013 Morongo Basin Relay for Life Chairwoman Diane Durden
Why he relays: Out of respect for Diane. She is so adamant about Relay. Well, I do relay for my mom, who died from cancer and for myself since I was inconvenienced with prostate cancer. It changed me more than many will ever know, unless you have had cancer, of course.
Morongo Basin Relay For Life brings together thousands of people from across the Hi-Desert to walk and have fun while raising money for the American Cancer Society. To find out how to participate in this year’s Relay, set for 9 a.m. April 13 to 9 a.m. 14 at Yucca Valley High School, by joining a team or making a donation, call Chairwoman Diane Durden at (760) 218-4584, email her at durden_dm@yahoo.com or go online to www.relayforlife.org/morongobasinca.
