The Shootout Over Gun Rights: Part 3

ComeAndTakeItThanks to the Obama regime, the number of guns in America is fast approaching 300 million. Fearful of more gun control, Americans are buying guns, especially semi-automatic rifles, in record numbers. Some states are two and three weeks behind in processing the paperwork. Distributors who stocked enough high capacity magazines to last 3-years were sold out in 4-days. This wasn’t supposed happen. After Sandy Hook, we were expected to see the light and turn in our guns so only criminals and loonies would have them. The Founding Fathers would be proud of us. Perhaps Obama should be nominated for gun salesman of the year.

“What doe’s anyone need with a military style assault rifle with a large capacity magazine?” How many times have we heard this question? Hopefully, we will live out our entire lives and never “need” a so-called assault rifle, but we set a dangerous precedent when we allow the government to decide what we need, and do not need.

The Second Amendment isn’t about duck hunting, it’s about having the right to protect yourself, your family, and perhaps your country against whatever threat may come your way, and do it with the most effective weapon available. That weapon would be a center fire, semi-automatic rifle with a large capacity magazine.

There are many threats Americans may have to defend themselves against. Riots and lootings after hurricanes like Katrina and Sandy, earthquakes in California, a terrorist attack, Mexican drug gangs invading American cities and communities, home invasion rape and robberies, and European style economic riots, to name a few. The only group that survived unscathed during the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles were the Koreans who were on the rooftops with semi-automatic Uzi’s.

Is it ridiculous to think armed American citizens may someday need to defend the nation against a foreign invasion? After the successful attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, the high command considered an invasion of the American mainland. They agreed it was a bad idea because: “There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” – Admiral Yamamoto, who led the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Is it paranoid to think our government may turn on us one day? Is it impossible for it to happen in America? Lets not forget about Waco and Ruby Ridge.

An attack by Federal law enforcement, directed by U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, resulted in 85 Americans being burned alive at the Davidian ranch near Waco, Texas. Twenty-five of the victims were children. Their small bodies melted into the ground. Reno ordered the attack claiming she was fearful that child abuse may be taking place in the complex. Apparently, incinerating 25 children is not considered child abuse.

Reno was praised in the media and in the congress as a heroine for “taking responsibility” for her actions. There was little outcry from the all loving, all caring, do-gooder lib’s on the left. Somehow, the brain dead anti-gun liberals were okay with the federal government incinerating 25 children, yet hold the NRA responsible for Sandy Hook.

“At the time she was putting out the false excuse of child abuse to justify her misjudgment, Reno was the darling of the media for seeming to accept responsibility bravely.” – William Safire, writing in the New York Times.

“Can anybody imagine the House Judiciary committee falling over itself to praise Hitler or one of his henchmen for personally taking blame for the Holocaust. This is really sick.” – Paul Craig Roberts, writing in the Star Tribune.

Randy Weaver, who attempted to live peacefully in the mountains of Ruby Ridge, Idaho, suffered the loss of his 14-year old Son Sammy, and his wife Vicki, at the hands of the federal government. Sammy was shot in the back by a U.S. Marshal armed with a full automatic weapon, while his wife Vicki, was shot through head by a federal sniper while she was holding her baby. Half of her face was blown away as her 10-month old child fell to the floor.

The only ones prosecuted for Waco and Ruby ridge were the survivors. Janet Reno should be in prison. The FBI sniper who murdered Vicki Weaver was charged, but the charges were dismissed because of federal law enforcement immunity. The federal government demonstrated it doesn’t have a problem killing us, and they can do it with impunity.

Defenders of the Second Amendment are often asked where we draw the line when it comes to owning weaponry. The gun grabbers, hoping to make us look like nut cases, ask if we support civilians owning tanks, rocket launchers, howitzers, combat aircraft and anti-aircraft guns. The National Firearms Act, along with restricting full automatic weapons, also banned anything that fires a projectile larger than .50 caliber. The exceptions are antique black powder guns and cannons that are not considered firearms.

The militia act of 1792, only specified small arms for the militia. It made no mention of the militia being armed with cannons or heavy explosives.

“Artillery pieces, tanks, nuclear devices, and other heavy ordinances are not constitutionally protected, neither are grenades, bombs, bazookas and other devices which have never been commonly possessed for self defense. But the right to arms does protect ordinary small arms – handguns, rifles, and shotguns – including assault weapons.” – Stephen Halbrook, prominent constitutional scholar.

Now it’s time to ask the gun grabbers where their bottom line is. They tell us they only want reasonable gun laws, yet we have over 20,000 gun laws on the books and they still aren’t happy.

In California, they came after our handguns and restricted them, and then our semi-automatic rifles claiming they were weapons of war and nobody needed them. Next they will be after our scope sighted bolt action hunting rifles claiming that they are actually “sniper” rifles, and then our shotguns. When they are finished we’ll be lucky to end up with flintlock pistols and muskets, and they will want a permit for those.

Here’s their bottom line, and the real agenda of the gun grabbers:

“If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up everyone of them … Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in, I would have done it.” – U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, making it clear what the real agenda is.

“Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of Firearms is the goal. – Janet Reno, Attorney General of the United States, December, 1993.

“Were going to hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy! Were going to beat guns into submission!

- U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York.

“I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that’s what I did. I was trained in firearms. I’d walk to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody tried to take me out, I was going to take them with me.”

- U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, explaining that it’s okay for her to be armed, but not us.

“He (President Bill Clinton) ordered the Justice Department to begin studying gun licensing, registration and collection proposals.”

- The Washington Times, 12/5/93.

“Banning guns is an idea whose time has come.”

- Joseph Biden, Vice President of the United States, and recently appointed by Obama to oversee gun legislation.

If gun grabbing Democrats were honest they would admit that the goal is to repeal the Second Amendment. Some are already stating that the Constitution should be ignored in the interest of public safety.

Here’s a question for those who hate firearms and want them banned. If a gang of home invasion professionals kick in your door and threaten you and your family with knifes and tire irons, what would you do? The answer is they would will call 911, if they could. Jews For The Preservation Of The Second Amendment have a motto. “Dial 911 and die!” Any honest police officer will tell you that the police cannot protect you. That they cannot be there during the first critical minutes that an attack is taking place, and that you are on your own.

What would you do if you were forced to watch your wife and daughter being forcibly raped and tortured while a knife was being held to your throat? You would wish there was something you could do to make them stop. Too bad you didn’t have a slide action shotgun squirreled away in the closet. Gunners are pro-choice, if you don’t want to own guns we can respect that, but don’t tell us we can’t have ours.

The courts have ruled that a police department is under no obligation to protect any individual citizen, only the general public at large. As the man of the house, or perhaps a mother, you are the first responder to an act of violence in your home. If under attack on the street, you are the first responder.

Much can be done to curtail killings with firearms. First and foremost, overhaul the criminal justice system and require violent felons serve out their full sentence rather than allow them to roam among us. Tens of thousands of homicides, rapes, robberies and assaults could be prevented.

Identify those who are mentally ill and prone to violence and keep a national database on them. The liberals are more concerned about the rights of criminals and nut cases than they are about our rights, or the rights of victims.

Every state needs to adopt “shall issue laws” were a citizen can obtain a concealed carry permit provided they have no criminal record or history of mental illness, can demonstrate proficiency with a firearm, and have a basic knowledge of the laws regarding justifiable homicide. The carry permits issued by one state should be recognized by all states. Some states, including California, are “may issue states” which means you might get a permit if you apply, and self defense is not a valid reason to issue a permit.

Carry permits increase the number of first responders. The first responders to any act of crime or violence are the victims. If the first responders are armed they can take control of the situation rather than be victims. An armed citizen seeing a major felony taking place could be a first responder. Statistics show that crime is lower in areas were citizens are armed. The California Rifle and Pistol Association has a motto: “Society is safer when criminals don’t know who’s armed.”

Eliminate gun free zones. They are bullet magnets. The majority of mass killings take place in gun free zones. The killers are highly intelligent and take into consideration that gun free zones are no threat to them. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. How many anti-gun do-gooders would be willing to put a sign in their yard that says:

THIS RESIDENCE IS A GUN FREE ZONE.

The red haired creep who shot up the Colorado movie theater had a choice of invading seven theaters, but chose the one that didn’t allow customers to carry guns. Studies reveal that gunman in the act of committing mass murder will cease immediately when a gun is leveled at them.

The principle of Sandy Hook Elementary attempted to rush the gunman to save herself and her students and was killed in the process. Too bad Dawn Hochsprung wasn’t allowed to keep a shotgun in her locker. She could have turned the monsters head into a puff of pink mist, and the parents would not have to suffer the additional grief of coping with unopened Christmas presents beneath the tree. The best defense against a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy, or a good girl with a gun.

It’s time for teachers and faculty to be armed. A school in Texas allows the janitor to be armed. The kids don’t have a problem with teachers being armed and feel more secure because of it. It’s a real world, no nonsense solution to the problem.

Gun grabbing politicians will never accept firearms as a solution to the problem because their agenda is to usurp power from the people, but why would an American citizen support the government disarming the people. It’s a physiological thing. Those with a morbid fear of guns and don’t want to own them, are deathly afraid of those of us who do. They feel threatened by us and our guns, and want the government to take them away.

We can thank the jackals in the media for brainwashing Americans into believing that guns are evil, that people who own them are mentally deranged, and that they have no place in a civilized society.

There’s only one cure for this problem. Take them out shooting and let them fire a gun. Most will be cured after firing a single box of ammo, and they’ll want to shoot up every round you brought. It works almost every time it’s tried. They’ll be at the gun shop picking out a weapon they want to train and practice with, and they will no longer live in fear. It will be one less vote for the likes Feinstein.

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined.”

- Patrick Henry, articulating the importance of guarding the rights of armed citizens.

It’s alarming what a hard sell freedom is in America. In the 2012 election Americans had a choice of voting for free market capitalism and limited government, or socialism and bigger more intrusive government. The American electorate chose socialism and we will pay the price because it never works. A Hungarian freedom fighter was asked how his country was taken over by despots. “That’s easy” he replied “We elected them!”

Too many Americans take freedom for granted, not realizing how fragile it is, until they wake up one morning and it’s gone. The pop culture is more interested in the antics of the Kardashians, than the destruction of our Constitution and liberties that is taking place before their eyes.

“They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” – Benjamin Franklin

Eroding the Second Amendment is desecrating the graves of those who fought and died to preserve it. None of them fought and died to protect socialism.

There are over 21 million veterans of our Armed Forces living in the U.S. today. None of them wrote a blank check for their lives so they could watch our Constitution be incrementally destroyed. They all took the oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. The majority of Americans do not want to see our constitution incrementally destroyed, and have a very dim attitude towards commie-lib politicians who mess with it.

    Sheriff Sniff gets it!

In the correspondence pressing Senator Feinstein to drop her proposed gun control legislation ( see link), the good Sheriff of Riverside County offers a number of meaningful insights, not the least of which is something that would seem obvious from a logical standpoint but appears to have been overlooked in the politically fueled discussion thus far. He said, and I quote from the letter, “I think all of us universally support increased efforts in keeping firearms (and other weapons) out of the hands of those who should not have them, and increased sanctions for those who willfully misuse them.” then, his next sentence delivers the punch line, “In your own State, California, we could dearly use greatly increased funding for our overcrowded local jails and state prisons, so that those very sanctions would have some meaning and deterrent value.”

Any punishment imposed by the courts today is academic because everyone knows it will never actually be carried out and what relatively little time one might have to do can be spent lounging around the dayroom sipping lemonade and catching up on those back episodes of Law and Order.

    Do you get it?

If we are truly serious about addressing lawlessness and violence in America, rather than recklessly squandering the Bill of Rights by creating pointless anti-gun laws that do nothing to dissuade bad behavior and in reality should never be imposed on a free people anyway, wouldn’t it be better to simply give up the laughable idea of home incarceration, eliminate the failed parole system and, for goodness sake, stop releasing prisoners because of overcrowding? Put up some tents in the desert, Sheriff Joe Arpaio style, if that’s what it takes, but keep convicted criminals locked up until their debt is PAID IN FULL… PERIOD!

Additionally we must realize that adults with mental issues who are dangerous are usually recognized as such by those around them but rarely can anything be done about it until it’s too late. That’s not because excellent help isn’t available, it is! But today’s legal morass is such that it’s virtually impossible for even close relatives to intervene in any significant way unless the troubled soul is receptive, and that would be an exception to the rule. So it will remain the case that those who need help the most are least likely to get any as long as agenda driven activists busy themselves with trashing our Constitution and continue standing the way of real solutions.

    Will Senator Feinstein get it?
