magnifying-glass-valuesYucca Valley, Ca.- The sample ballots will arrive with the Voter’s Guide in the mail boxes of over 9,800 registered voters to fill one vacant seat on the Yucca Valley Town Council. This is a Mail-In election and there will not be any neighborhood voting polls.

Residents of Yucca Valley know and respect Candidate Robert (Bob) Leone for his honesty, integrity and dedication to our community.  In all the past elections when he ran on the ballot, Bob always received the highest number of votes that even veteran Councilman Chad Mayes said he could never come close. Let’s take a closer look at his background, values and resume…..

Willingness to Serve:

Unlike the other candidates, Bob Leon tossed his hat into the ring when there was a vacant seat to be appointed by the Yucca Valley Town Council. When he discovered there were no challengers in the last election, he gathered enough signatures to be officially designated as a write-in candidate making history as the first write-in candidate for Yucca Valley Town Council. He went on the campaign trail at a very important time when Measure U was being promoted at a joint cost of over $239,000.00 by the Town and a Political Action Committee which was defeated at the polls.  Bob Leone was against Measure U because it was a General Fund tax that could not be earmarked for special projects.  He will support a Citizen’s Initiative of 1/2% tax specifically to fund the sewer crisis.

Awards and Proclamations:

Leone is the only Yucca Valley Councilman to have completed the League of Cities Leadership Academy and among the many awards received, he is very proud of Sheriff’s Penrod’s Proclamation.  Link

Brooklyn College City of New York , B.A. Degree

Chairman- Morongo Basin Transit Authority (2 years)

Alternate for Paul Cook-SANDBAG, San Bernardino Associated Governments (2 years)

Bob Leone’s Vision for Yucca Valley:

“I want to create an environment to facilitate local business since sales tax is an important revenue. It is important to work with our local Chamber of Commerce to promote Yucca Valley. Sewers along our local corridor is a must. A police substation in a prominent location. For instance-the old PFF building next to our Fire Dept. so our residents can make reports (police), etc.  Make it a possible DMV facility too.”

Top Three Priorities:

“1. Sewer system, water issues and lack of future water supply for our Town’s needs.

2.Increased ability to care for our infrastructure, roads, traffic, etc.

 3. Source of revenue to sustain a balanced budget and services to the residents of Yucca Valley.”

Addressing the Town’s Road Backlog:

SANBAG is a venue for county government to assist in our need for road funding. The Twentynine Palms Marine Base utilizes Hwy 62 for troop movement. Federal funding is needed to improve this road. We need to investigate state funding through Cal-Trans, grants, etc. that may be available to tap into.”

Town of Yucca Valley General Plan:

“The General Plan should be updated to shape the changing needs of this community. It reflects the desire of its residents through study sessions open to the public. It is a plan for future growth and planning for housing, residential, roads, population densities, etc.  It is a guide for Planners and Leaders. This is a “Blue Print” for Yucca Valley.”

Knowledge level/Expertise to help Council Discussion and Decisions:

“I have a good understanding of the Town’s budget and financial condition due to my personal involvement as a Council member and Mayor during my 12 years as an elected official.”

“I have a positive working skill with people, bringing to consensus, with problem solving abilities.”

“I can contribute to the Town Council my experience and ability to reason and common sense. I believe I have the people skills to gather consensus among my peers.”   (Source: YVTC Agenda 05/10/2011   Link)

  1. Tim Humphreville Tim Humphreville says:

I wish Bob would answer the very important questions I have asked, What policies did he put in place, for the sewer system, while spending 12 years in office? Bob was one of the very few that were told that a sewer was going to be mandated here. What did he do about the roads, and other infrastructure here in Yucca Valley. Like many politicians, he ran on fixing the roads in Yucca. What he did do was campaign against the only thing that’s ever been done here to address this issue. Bob has stood face to face to me, and lied to me, yet Margo says he has integrity? His web site says that he had balanced budgets while in office. I have shown that this is also a lie. Please inform yourselves before you vote. Bob has had his chance, he failed, that was not leadership.

  2. RescueGuy RescueGuy says:

So Margo, how long have you and Bob been dating?? (gag!)

  3. @Tim. Time to move Yucca Valley Forward. If you wallow in the past, you might as well include ALL previous Town Council members…throw in HDWD Director Stadum too!

You should do your homework before you start hurling accusations….

    1. Contact LAFCO and ask a few questions about SOI, Sphere of Influence. The boundaries of the HDWD DO NOT match up with the boundaries of the Town of Yucca Valley….OOOPS! That is why the HDWD is the lead agency to handle the sewers which they are doing very, very, very well to take on this enormus project. Let’s move Yucca Valley forward….

    2. ALL past budgets were balanced in the Town of Yucca Valley when Leone was in office. B-A-L-A-N-C-E-D! All this information provided to you by you-know-who, makes you look like his previous lackey….Amos Young Jr.

    3. Bob Leone indeed has integrity. You would not know what that is even if you looked it up in the dictionary.

    4. While you’re at it…be sure to hit the books on manners and etiquette. Remember when you were so riled up because I wear a hat?

    5. As for telling a lie? You have told some whoppers and you sound like a winny-ninny sniveler wimp….

Thanks again for your comment. Vote for Bob Leone, Experience You can TRUST!

  4. Tim Humphreville Tim Humphreville says:

Margo, why do you make this so easy? First it was the balenced budjets, then his experince and leadership, Then his extreame lack of integrity. Now the Vote count. Here are the FACTS.

“Residents of Yucca Valley know and respect Candidate Robert (Bob) Leone for his honesty, integrity and dedication to our community. In all the past elections when he ran on the ballot, Bob always received the highest number of votes that even veteran Councilman Chad Mayes said he could never come close. Let’s take a closer look at his background, values and resume…..”

      Reader Background:

Wikipedia: “Hooked on Phonics-is a commercial brand of educational materials, originally designed for reading education through phonetics.

Hooked on Phonics was developed in the 1980s by a father who wanted to help his son overcome his reading problems. First marketed widely in the 1990s, it used a particular instructional design to teach letter-sound correlations (phonics) as part of children’s literacy.”

      • Tim Humphreville Tim Humphreville says:

Yes, I was in a hurry, and made a couple of typos, some of us don’t sit around with nothing to do but spread lies and discontent. How about you address the lies you posted. Maybe an apology for posting lies again?

        • Tim Humphreville Tim Humphreville says:

On second thought, I can take a typing class, You and Bob however are going to have problems fixing the NO INTEGRITY issue

        • @ Tim, when sources are wrong that is not considered reckless disregard for the truth. Seems you are calling former Mayor Chad Mayes a liar. I’m sure he is not a liar.

  5. YV Councilman/Mayor Chad Mayes always spoke with respect and admiration of Bob Leone. He praised Leone for always receiving more votes than he did and “was always the highest vote getter.” Chad Mayes never ran against Bob Leone and vice versa.

Chad’s statements were made on two occasions at separate Town Council meetings that you have NEVER attended over the past 6 years. Your beef should be with Chad for making his statements. Be sure to show him your research on two election results, ya hear?

Don’t you get tired of striking out?…

  6. Tim Humphreville Tim Humphreville says:

Margo, You might want to check your hat band, I think it may be too tight. It is YOU who put this false information here! How is this Chads fault? Are you sure you weren’t a politician at some point? Again you said ” Bob always received the highest number of votes” Please folks, Be informed when you vote for Town council. Margo and Bob can not tell the truth, Bob had his chance, He failed! Vote Jennifer Collins.

  7. What up with the Hump’s obsession with hats? The appropriate hat for the Hump is a Dunce Hat.

I hate having to come back into someone's comment to install the proper HTML to stop a run on right margin..... this is getting old and I am about to removing the plugin.
