Meanwhile…. Over on our side of the valley, those concerned with getting the 29 Palms Chamber off the ropes showed up to last nights meeting held at the Community Center over on Joe Davis Road.

I was welcomed to the meeting and the first thing I asked Chuck Caplinger as we shook hands is if he planned to resign tonight… No such luck… the guy obviously is oblivious to being able to separate his personal and public personas. Too bad, it would give the whole Chamber a shot in the arm if the appearance of  being dominated by a special interest was gone. It might get new members. Seems his resignation is not on the table.

The meeting itself was a lively rehash of what is wrong with both the fundraising side and the business side of the Chamber. Everyone had a good idea or two and expressed it.

We suffered through another “Power Point.”

We all met the new Executive Director…. She seems a nice lady. Great nails. She could talk the talk…. now lets give’er a chance to walk the walk.
