Yucca Valley will be conducting their first Vote by Mail-in-Ballot election to fill one Town Council seat vacated when Isaac Hagerman resigned July 2012. During my telephone interview this morning with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, it was confirmed the ballots must reach their office BEFORE March 5, 2013 and the postmark date will NOT count.
If you need to register to vote, moved or changed your name, there is time to send in your application. This application must be received by Monday February 18, 2013 or you can register online: California Secretary of State LINK
The Yucca Valley Voter Guide and Sample Ballot will be mailed out to registered voters on Monday, February 4, 2013.
If you are going out of Town or wish to vote early, you can to go to the San Bernardino Registrar’s office beginning Monday, February 4, 2013, for early voting or starting February 7, 2013, at the Yucca Valley Town Hall.
On Friday, February 8, 2013, the Official Ballots will be mailed out to ALL 9,860 registered voters of the Town of Yucca Valley. These ballots must be mailed in and there will not be any open polls as provided in other standard elections. It was suggested to allow ten days for the ballot to be delivered by mail.
According to Jamie Anderson, Yucca Valley Town Clerk, there will be a drop-off box at the Town Hall which will be open until 8pm on Election Day, March 5th. If you lost or damaged your ballot, Ms. Anderson said she will be able to help you.
Reminder, the Yucca Valley Town Hall is closed to the public every Friday.
