On Tuesday, April 6th, 2010, at approximately 4:46 p.m., Deputy Matthew Gordon responded to a report of a run away juvenile. While taking the report, Deputy Gordon learned that the 15 year-old female juvenile was being disciplined for behavior at school and ran away earlier that afternoon. According to the juvenile’s mother she had never run away before.
While Deputy Gordon was completing the report, the juvenile called her mom. Deputy Gordon got on the phone with the juvenile and asked where she was and if she was alright? The juvenile indicated with short answers that she doesn’t know where she is and that she is not alright. The juvenile victim continued to talk to Deputy Gordon but pretended she was talking to her friend and told him she would meet him at the liquor store where they usually meet in a few minutes and hung up. The victim’s mom informed Deputy Gordon that there is a liquor store on 7th St. and Mojave that they use as a drop off and pick up on school days.
Deputy Gordon arrived at the liquor store and was met by the victim who was frantically waiving him down. Through an investigation, it was learned that the victim met the suspects at the liquor store earlier in the day. They offered to take her to their home where she could use their phone to contact someone. The victim put her trust in strangers and they took her to a nearby residence where they molested her and held her against her will. She convinced them that someone was supposed to meet her and she needed to call the friend so they didn’t worry. At that time she used the suspect’s phone and called her mom for help. When she hung up she convinced one of the suspects that she was going to meet her friend and she’d be back.
Deputies and Detectives of the Victorville Station found that there was surveillance video of the two suspects in the liquor store and the clerk remembered the victim from earlier in the day.
The victim was able to indentify the home in the 16000 block of Tracy St. where she was taken. Deputies went to the location, but both suspects had already fled the area.
Through ongoing investigation efforts, deputies located suspect Edgar Colores Rodriguez, 28 at his residence in the 15000 block of Del Rey Dr. A search warrant was served at the location. Suspect Rodriguez was located wearing the same items of clothing captured on the liquor store surveillance video. Deputies also located the phone Rodriguez allowed the victim to use to call her mom. Suspect Librado Fajardo 37, was located at his residence in the 15000 block of S. Mojave Dr. Also found on suspect Fajardo was a fake identification card reportedly used to obtain employment.
Both suspects were positively identified. Suspect Rodriguez was arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail on charges of PC266i-Pandering of a minor, accessory to a lewd act of a minor and false imprisonment.
Suspect Fajardo has been arrested and will be booked at Victor Valley Jail on charges of PC288-Lewd act with a minor and PC470b- possession of a fraudulent identification.
Deputies are also looking in the suspect’s possible involvement of narcotics at Center Street Park in Victorville.
