Citizens interested in the future of Apple Valley Airport are invited to attend a public workshop on April 22. The workshop is part of the current update to the Airport Master Plan and affords interested community members the opportunity to review and discuss the future plans for the airport.
The workshop will be held at Apple Valley Airport, 21600 Corwin Road in Apple Valley from 5:30 to 7 p.m.. There is no cost to attend the workshop.
The Airport Master Plan is a comprehensive planning effort initiated by the County of San Bernardino Department of Airports and identifies the future usage and is a timely reassessment of the development direction of the airport and how it can best serve the needs of the local community. The Airport Master Plan also provides insight in how the airport can best serve the ever-changing air transportation industry. The goal of the Master Plan is to accommodate the needs of the airport and its surrounding communities in an environmentally and fiscally responsible manner while adhering to applicable safety standards.
“Apple Valley Airport is proud to be a part of the High Desert community and we encourage our neighbors to participate in this important process,” said First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.
“An Airport Master Plan is a significant planning effort for the airport, and being able to discuss the airport with our local citizens is important to the airport,” said Mike N. Williams, A.A.E., Director fo the Department of Airports for the County of San Bernardino.
