It was a good night for business… it was a bad night for business

party-hatTwentynine Palms, Ca— Well it was a good night for vendors, peddlers and hawkers…. Tinkers, Ice Cream trucks and Vegetable Carts. Yes we have a year to prove that street vending can be both profitable and fit in with other businesses in town. ordinance Passed 3-2. Folks interested in starting a Vendors association please contact me here on the blog.

We soon will have home baking… yes the next time you find a hair in your muffin it might be your neighbors Labrador Retrievers. Passed 5-0.

The couple wanting to bring Sears here has as much chance of getting $500,000 grant to get it done as I do getting invited to Jay Corbin’s Birthday Party. Application failed 0-5.

Why did two councilmen have against small business vendor giving it a go?

Put another way, what do two councilmen have against opening up new markets to small vendors and thus open new consumer markets. This isn’t Palm Springs but the streets are alive and the downtown is filled with shoppers. 29 Palms small vendors can greatly add to the experience of experiencing a small desert village.

Z107.7 reports it was a 4 to 1 vote with Jay Corbin being the dissenting vote. As to why I do not know perhaps Dan can fill us in.

I am glad I got it passed.

I am thinking that the development code as was written is like a child to Jay…. it is his life’s work to date and hates to see it changed.
