Yucca Valley, Ca.- If you have a Verizon account for your internet service please heed this warning. There is a huge marketing attempt to “upgrade” millions of Verizon users to the 4G Jet Pack with 10 spot capacity. The moment you sign on, with a 2 year contract and $30.00 upgrade fee and $90.00 for the unit, you will NO LONGER be able to log onto Cactus Thorns.com!
The Verizon company is aware of the defective device they continue to send out to their customers. I was informed Verizon is waiting for that supplier to correct the “software glitch” to allow the readers to log onto Cactus Thorns.
After trouble shooting and trying to install a correction “patch” the results were the same…the message read “Connection Timed Out” and I was not able to log on Cactus Thorns. Verizon sent me a second unit, the SAME model, it did not work either.
The third overnight package contained a different model that was not defective and I was ready to fire it up. Never mind they sent me the incorrect battery and then the wrong back cover…all overnight! Ooops! My SIM card did not fit in the third device resulting in another visit from UPS with an overnight package.
I bumped into a long lost friend at Walgreens and she was not able to log onto Cactus Thorns, her favorite blog, that she follows daily. Yep. You guessed it, she is a Verizon customer and she recently upgraded.
Bottom line: Verizon Jetpack MiFi 4620L Hotspot AA9B is the one you want. This is what your Jet-Pack should look like below. If you receive anything else, it is defective!
