2013 City Managers Meeting in San Francisco

PRESS RELEASE-League of California Cities

The registration and housing deadline for the League’s 2013 City Managers’ Department meeting in San Francisco is Jan. 8, 2012.

The meeting is being held Jan. 30 – Feb. 1, 2013.

This conference is tailored for city managers, city administrators, assistant city managers, administrative or management analysts, county chief administrative officers, and council of government directors to will help attendees connect with the League, learn about a variety of topics related to city management and network with colleagues.

The opening keynote speaker will be Ann Tenbrunsel, co-author of “Blind Spots: Why We Fail to Do What’s Right and What to Do About it” 

The December 2012 issue of Western City magazine highlighted topics from her book with an article titled >>>LINK:  “Blind Spots: Money, Public Service and the Ethical Hazards of Self Interest.” 

Other featured keynote sessions at the conference are:

  • “The Unique Power of Compelling Stories” with speaker Terrence McNally, consultant, speaker, radio host, writer and coach, Los Angeles.  Mr. McNally will also conduct a follow-up breakout session on “Becoming a Better Storyteller.”
  • “Managing the 21st Century City” with Dr. Lowell Catlett, futurist and Regent’s professor/dean & chief administrative officer, New Mexico State University.
