Yucca Valley, Calif.-Commentary- The Town of Yucca Valley started out 18 months ago to place a 1% General Fund Tax for 30 years led by then newly hired Town Manager, Mark Nuaimi. Measure U, Nuaimi’s General Fund Tax, was defeated by the voters at the ballot box.
When Nuaimi was hired, he was boastful of his relationship with then Assemblyman Paul Cook. All along he must have felt this was his chance to transform the rural town of Yucca Valley with his accomplishments while building up his resume for his next hire. This arrogant ex-Mayor of Fontana and ex-Asst. Manager of Colton brought his carpet-bag of consultant cronies and a Fontana Sim Card.
Nuaimi thought he had created a “perfect storm” of inexperienced Town Council members through the “appointment” of two council members when two most experienced members resigned and the third was not capable of continuing his term having never been elected to any office in high school or dog-catcher.
Mayor Dawn Rowe, also Field Representative for Paul Cook, was in awe of the town manager razzle-dazzle, and the two have spent huge amounts of scarce tax dollars during her seat on the dais in pursuit of Nuaimi’s Wishful Thinking.
They Can Run but They Can’t Hide From the New Media- Sharon Gilbert writes:
“Town of Yucca Valley mayor, Dawn Rowe, and city manager, Mark Nuaimi, learned just recently that the new media, including social media, cannot be controlled, bought or threatened into submission like the mainstream media they are so used to manipulating through advertising revenue. They lost two campaigns in a big way.”
