Kingman, AZ– Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joshua Lane Styer, 32, and Robert Peter Jacobsen Jr, 56, both of Kingman, late Saturday (11/17) afternoon. Styer was arrested for resisting arrest, aggravated assault on law enforcement officer and theft of means of transportation, felonies. Jacobsen was arrested for possession of a weapon by prohibited person, felony, and a failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court.
Approximately 3:27 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 3700 block of East Lum Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party. The reporting party advised that she located her reported stolen green Dodge Truck as she was driving by this residence. Deputies confirmed the truck was reported stolen on Friday (11/16). Deputies contacted a male subject at the residence and he advised that his friend named Josh left the truck Friday night. The male subject further advised that Josh drives a black Cadillac with chrome wheels.
While deputies were speaking with the male subject, they observed the described vehicle travel by the residence. Deputies got into their patrol unit and conducted a traffic stop at North Tommie Drive and East Lum Avenue. Deputies contacted the driver identified as Joshua Styer and the passenger identified as Robert Jacobsen.
Deputies had Styer exit the vehicle. As deputies were taking Styer into custody, he shoved the deputy and started running westbound on Lum Avenue. Styer ran approximately 25 feet before he tripped and fell into the dirt after his pants fell down around his knees. Deputies caught up with Styer and he continued to resist. Eventually Styer was further restrained and taken into custody.
Deputies observed Jacobsen exit the vehicle and throw something over a fence. A record check showed Jacobsen to have an outstanding warrant and prior felony charges. Jacobsen was taken into custody without incident. Deputies located a gun on the inner side of the fence.
Styer and Jacobsen were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
