Plastic trees adorned with wisps of wrinkled glitter garland shelter the family Nativity scene placed beneath. The Christmas tree sits upon a wobbly card table with pride. There are no wrapped gifts but hopes are never diminished this time of the year.
Desert dust consisting of microscopic mica particles float about the room and sparkle like diamonds when lit by a ray of sunlight….it’s 70 degrees outside today….yes, this is Christmas in the High Desert!
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind and now it’s time to show our thanks to the Publisher of Cactus Thorns. It is the end of the year and what better way to thank Cactus Thorns for bringing you the news. Don’t you tip your Postman, Maid, Doorman, Milkman, Employees or Newspaper boy? Why not DanO?
I have created this Virtual Garage Sale instead of posting a Christmas Wish List for a change of pace and to grab your attention with a bit of silliness. With the economy still in the dumps, there are some folks doing their Christmas shopping at our local garage sales because they are unable to drive out to the big city shopping malls. Not all, just some.
Now you can take part in this virtual Garage Sale Fundraiser too! This is a good time to thank Cactus Thorns right here in the comfort of your own home and you don’t have to deal with the crowds of Christmas shoppers or expose yourself to the flu bug.
I challenge each of you 18,842 readers that logged in to read my story posted three weeks ago to send in $20 dollars. Okay? Story>>>link
