I picked this story because sometimes the Lord shows us he has a sense of humor and a down right mean streak. Take Amanda Michelle, poor gal right from the start was christened with about the most disturbing surname I’ve ever seen in print. Best as I can figure it is pronounced as a amorous act on pork products. It is no wonder the young lady does drugs, and packs heat.

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Amanda Michelle Phakhongkham, 29, and Brett A Strong, 21, both of Kingman, early Wednesday (11/7) evening. Phakhongkham was arrested for possession of a weapon during a drug offense, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.
Strong was arrested on a failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant issued by Bullhead City Municipal Court.

Deputies were advised that two male subjects and a female subject were removing items from a residence. The reporting party did not believe they should be at the residence. The reporting party advised the subjects left in a blue Jeep Cherokee. Approximately 5:50 p.m., deputies located the vehicle traveling in the 4300 block of Bond Street where a traffic stop was conducted.

Deputies contacted the driver and two passengers identified as Phakhongkham and Strong. A record check showed Strong to have an outstanding warrant. Strong was taken into custody without incident. Deputies observed Phakhongkham move a gun holster when she was asked to exit from the front passenger seat. Deputies questioned Phakhongkham regarding a gun and she advised there was no gun for the holster.

A consent search of the vehicle revealed two pipes with burnt residue, a .380 handgun and a plastic bag containing pills located under the front passenger seat. Deputies observed the handgun fit into the holster. Phakhongkham was taken into custody without incident. A computer check showed Phakhongkham to have prior felony charges.

Investigations determined that the homeowner had his son with his sons friends pick up items at his residence in the 4100 block of Bond Street.

Phakhongkham and Strong were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The driver was released at the scene.
