On Friday, November 2, 2012, about 11:00 P.M., a hand-held laser was pointed at a San Jacinto officer’s patrol car while driving in the 1900 block of Villines Street in the city of San Jacinto. The Riverside Sheriff’s helicopter responded to assist in searching for the suspect.
As the helicopter searched the area, the suspect pointed the laser at the aircraft multiple times. The helicopter crew was able to direct officers to a residence on Villines Street from where the laser was emanating. Officers contacted 32-year-old Irene Marie Levy who was arrested for the violations and booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility. Levy has been arrested for similar incidents in the past.
The San Jacinto Police Department would like to remind the community that pointing a laser at vehicles and/or aircraft is dangerous and a criminal offense.
