Project Phoenix, The Elections, Who to Vote for? Balance is the Answer.

Project Phoenix and the Elections what is the connection?

To be honest with everyone, as much as I and others disagreed with the original selling of 31 million dollars in bonds for only 11 million dollars in proceeds to build a theater complex that we do not need, the deed has been done, and there is no amount of finger pointing or complaining that will undo it.

The problem with Project Phoenix and the bonds is the willingness of a few on the council as well as city staff to continue to spend our tax dollars to get Project Phoenix approved by the State Department of Finance, which has rejected the concept for the past year or more.

Everyone in this city should know that the State has denied project Phoenix and the expenditure of the bond proceeds no less than five to eight times depending on your count of denial letters and emails. If you did not know, you do now.

So what is the problem that we as voters should have with Project Phoenix?

It is how much of our tax dollars the few at city hall are willing to spend to get a “yes” answer when they have been told “no” five to eight times?

Current city estimates are that a quarter of a million dollars, that’s right $250,000.00, have been expended so far trying to get a “yes” answer from the State. So far all that the “few” at city hall have accomplished is the waste of $250,000.00 to get five to eight “no” answers.

This insanity and abuse our tax dollars needs to stop.

Please vote for Heiser and Klink.

Cole can not, and will not, do anything to stop the bleeding and he has said so. Heiser and Klink will.

Cole, Warne and RSG are willing to spend every dollar the City has in pursuit of Project Phoenix. The first two to prove they weren’t wrong and the last because they are lawyers and don’t care who wins as long as they are getting paid (handsomely) to litigate the issue.

It’s not going to be over even when it’s over… Bottom line: Last ditch effort on Phoenix includes a a quick raid on the city’s reserve funds to save face and break ground at all costs by any means necessary.

Cole has already said he will use reserve funds for capital projects.

That is another important reason to change the dynamics of the council. Vote Klink and Heiser.
