I don’t know how many times I’ve been called a backward-assed hillbilly for merely being, well, Republican. In fact, in all the debates I’ve had with liberals, there’s usually one overriding, unspoken companion to said debate – and that’s condescension. You see, liberals would like you to believe that they’re smarter than you. They have that whole “intellectual superiority” thing going on, and the lamestream media perpetuates it on a daily basis.
If you’re conservative, then you must be an uneducated hillbilly, yes?
Well, those of us with Actual Brains know that this isn’t the case. And wouldn’t you know it – even data shows that it’s definitely not the case. When the data happens to come from a left-leaning research center like Pew, it’s even more delicious.
“In a scientific survey of 1,168 adults conducted during September and October of last year, respondents were asked not only multiple-choice questions, but also queries using maps, photographs and symbols. Among other subjects, participants identified international leaders, cabinet members, Supreme Court justices, nations on a world map, the current unemployment and poverty rates and war casualty totals.”
And – go figure – Republicans outperformed Democrats on every single one of 19 questions.
Wow. Those are some well-informed hilljacks, huh?
Of course, left-leaning Pew had to downplay the fact that Republicans spanked Democrats:
“Republicans generally outperformed Democrats on the current quiz. On 13 of the 19 questions, Republicans score significantly higher than Democrats and there are no questions on which Democrats did better than Republicans. In past knowledge quizzes, partisan differences have been more muted, though Republicans often have scored somewhat higher than Democrats.”
Way to soften the FAIL there, Pew. Good job.
Of course, we must remember that Democrats are the ones who blindly follow a President who thinks there are 57 states, and a Vice President who believes that Iran and Afghanistan are the same thing. But, man – that George W. dude is a moron, huh?
You know what this self-imposed intellectual superiority reminds me of? James Carville – one of the most highly sought-after Democrat political strategists/consultants – and his alleged commentary on the brainiac-elite band of Democrats he works for. Of course, all Democrats will tell you that he didn’t say this. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn’t. I don’t know. It depends on the day, the source, and in which direction the wind is blowing. But the words still hold some meaning, regardless of who flippin’ said it.
“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.
The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.”
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality. What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

Yes, Daisy the majority of Left-wing Democrats ARE superior to most folks intellectually. Because they are well read and interested in what is going on around them and are not sheep like these so-called tea partiers and Republicans. However this year, Neil Derry IS superior to the joke du jour, Ramos since he’s the only candidate with guts enough to speak against the casino mafia. But if anyone dares vote for the pasty-faced (unless its spray-died with an ethnic tan) retarded duo Romney/Ryan then they are mental defectives! Since R/R are bold-faced liars and criminal in their attemopts to be the next dictators in abuse of women in this country! For Ruyan to actually say that “Rape is just another form of conception” is outrageous and criminal behavior. For Romney to actually want to privitize Social Security and reduce Medicare to a voucher system? That is criminal behavior akin to grand theft since he will be stealing from 55 million people in this country what they have spent their lives supporting. Anyone voting for that cult member of the mormon crowd should be rounded up in camps for the mentally insane.
I’m just sorry the US Calvary of the 1853 creek massacre didn’t put all of the Mormons then in their firing squad since Bringham Young ordered the killing of those defenseless 158 non-Mormon pioneers. Its on record that this event occurred but the Mormonms all deny it ever happened like Romney, they make up their own version of history and re-write it daily.

When both parties come together, only then will we change for the better as a people and as a country. Divide and conquer is a very powerful and proven means of control.
Strikeout the name calling and replace it with the flip side and the one party can say the same about the other party and vise versa. It’s a washout.

Well if you have to go back 155 years to find some kind of fault against a guy’s religion that is running for president I’d say there wasn’t much to complain about.
We members of the LDS Church and the Survivors of the Mountain Meadow Massacre have spent those 155 years mending fences. Each of those 122 victims are etched into our hearts and are remembered in our prayers.

I am going to make an observation…. that in the name of religion many acts of horror have been preformed. There is not a religion or sect that has not been a perpetrator or victim of religious zealotry.
I wonder does Ms Renton Harbor such disdain for the Turks and Arabs who murdered millions of Armenians in 1917-1920, or the 6 Million Jews that were stoked into the fire pits of WWII by German Lutherans? Does she have a bleeding heart for the Muslims and Jews of Spain who went to their deaths at the hands of the Roman Catholics during the Inquisition? Come on, I could list reams of massacres and killings all in the name of the Almighty.
One thing I know is true…. I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe that my salvation is in excepting the blood sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. Christ is our only salvation. I believe in the whole word of the Bible and other teachings that supplement the Bible which include the Book of Mormon. I will willingly stand before The God of Abraham our Almighty Creator proudly as a member of His Restored Church in my time to be judged.
Enough said. I do not expect I should have to defend my faith nor denigrate another’s faith in an attempt to win political points on this blog or in this community. But understand this above all… We “Mormons” are not pacifists. We have a long history of standing shoulder to shoulder.
