“…Give to us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for—because unless we stand for something, we shall fall for anything.”
~~Peter Marshall (1902–67) Senate chaplain, prayer offered at the opening of the session, April 18, 1947.—Prayers Offered by the Chaplain, the Rev. Peter Marshall … 1947–1948, p. 20 (1949). Senate Doc. 80–170.
You can not on one hand claim you are fighting for lower taxes when you gain your support from the very lobbyists that are courting you and others in the State Assembly for increased spending.
When you can not stand on your own record you attack your opponent. Boy does that adage hold true in this case. Cooks miserable legislative record makes it impossible to brag about anything substantive in his entire career as a legislator.
Oh, its filled with fluffy feel good bullshit bills like Thank you Vietnam Veterans Day….. Really? 35 years later you want to thank me… We’ve had 4 maybe five wars since. Brothers and sisters who served during the Vietnam Era…. Get over it… Move on… It is over. Your sons and daughters and Grandsons and Daughters need the accolades. Through your support of those veterans today healing comes. It does not come from some old hippie douche bag attempting to bury his own guilt of not serving his country by thanking you for yours 40 years ago.
Cooks career was filled with crap like that. What broke the camels back was his complete disconnect with his constituency when he proposed and passed AB 1594. A law that made thousands of off road vehicles illegal to operate. He promoted this bill not for his constituency but flat ass for the Money…. He was bought by a Japanese Motorcycle Firm lock stock and ribbon rack.
Take the flyer pictured here. This was bought and paid for by “Spirit of Democracy America” a super PAC financed by the San Manuel Indian Reservation, and James Ramos the ex-chairman of the tribe and 3 District Supervisor Candidate.
The only thing that I can find that Cook actually stands for and will fight for is his staying in office, any office, at any price.
Gregg Imus has a clear vision. Spends little time back biting his opponent and has invited Mr. Cook to several debate opportunities. Cook hides behind money, money donated by democrat party operatives, corporate lobbyists, the extremist Munger Family and his long long long ago military service.
We need new ideas, fresh eyes and a willingness to get things done. We need Gregg Imus for the 8th Congressional District.
