Yucca Valley, Ca.-Christmas came early for the Lovell family and their son, Chuck. Their pets, Dakota and Blaze, were returned after being impounded at the Yucca Valley Animal shelter for almost eight months and the Town of Yucca Valley spending over $50,000.00 in court fees.
The pets were allowed to mate while being held in captivity in order to save the life of the male who refused to eat when his sibling was in heat. The result was four extra puppies returning home to the Lovell family with the mother until such time they can thrive on their own to be adopted out.
I won’t go into too many details at this time except to say the documents to release all claims and conditions of release turned this saga into a Happy Homecoming.
Here are a few photos of those first hours of returning home to their family and getting re-acquainted.

Thank you Sharon Gilbert who contacted her network across the nation (and Europe) with a call to action to stop the euthanizing of a disabled vet’s pets and bring them home to his family.
