Holy Beckham, Its Kids Soccer, dude!

 Thousand Palms, Ca-  On Saturday, October 6, 2012 at about 11:30 a.m. Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Thousand Palms Community Park, in reference to a battery that just occurred during a children’s soccer game.

The investigation revealed that a spectator, Rafael Delfin Sequeda age 38 from Cathedral City, ran onto the soccer field, pushed a nine-year-old player to the ground and kicked the referee in the leg because he disagreed with a call he made.

The nine-year-old juvenile was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The referee was not injured.

Rafael Delfin was arrested for battery on a child and battery on a referee. He was transported to Riverside County Jail in the city of Indio and booked.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (Palm Desert Station) at 760-836-1600 or Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP (7867).
