Gregg Imus vs Paul Cook: Reality Check II: The heat of the battle.

Yesterday I spent many hours putting out political fires. I hope that this will help all involved to understand this publishers position and stand on the issue.

To be honest, I can understand Margo’s confusion on this “did he or did he not say what she thought he said issue.”

It all comes down to context.

We have to remember that Gregg Imus and Paul Cook are running for a Federal Office, not a local position. One must keep in mind when listening or reading their individual statements that they are for the most part speaking about Federal Issues.

In the heat of a local political battle, each side tends to grab hold of anything the might be an advantageous weapon against the other, So I can understand how Imus’ statement that he is against any new taxes could be construed to take a position on a local issue.

Each of us have our own dogs in this years overall hunt, the trick is to keep our individual dog from taking the scent of another fellows prey.

In my perfect world my personal hunt includes in this order Cora Heiser and Greg Imus winning their respective elections, Obama loosing, No on all the State Tax Initiatives, praying for a peaceful transition of power and then getting back to the normal give and take of local politics… These are personal opinions.

While I draw the line at gratuitous attacks on me or my family or dead baby pictures, I try really, really hard to make this News Blog a beacon of 1st Amendment Rights. I hope I get it right most of the time.  Sometimes we do not agree here. But it does not negate my inherent desire to be a fair merchant of information.

Everyone has the right to speak…. We are not going to revert to Egyptians or Libyans and demand an end to “free Speech” no matter how some might feel it is objectionable.
