A question of trust

Blythe, Ca– On May 4th, 2012, a representative for Fisher Ranch Corporation contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report an embezzlement and grand theft that had occurred there. Fisher Ranch Corporation, a large, local farming company, believed a former employee had embezzled large amounts of money from Fisher Ranch  over the past (6) years. The  Ranch  representative suspected the theft of monies by the former employee exceeded $80,000 dollars.

According to the Fisher Ranch Corporation representative, the suspected former employee had been entrusted with accounts receivables, hay inventories and sales deposits, as well as deposits generated by numerous rental properties owned and managed by the Corporation. The former employee allegedly skimmed monies from these types of deposits over a 6-year period.

After conducting an extensive investigation into the alleged embezzlement scheme, Colorado River Station Sheriff’s investigators were able to process hundreds of documents, receipts, and banking statements. As a result of their lengthy investigation, Sheriff’s investigators determined the former employee, identified as 43 year-old Abby Amillano, of Blythe, had indeed embezzled a large amount of money from Fisher Ranch Corporation over a number of years. Sheriff’s investigators requested an arrest warrant be issued for Amillano for embezzlement and grand theft.

On October 1st, 2012, Colorado River Station Sheriff’s investigators served the arrest warrant and arrested Abby Amillano for embezzlement and grand theft. She was booked into the Blythe Jail on the above charges.

Anyone with further information regarding this theft investigation is encouraged to contact the Colorado River Station at (760) 921-7900.
