Yucca Valley,Ca. – Z107.7

“Three term Former Yucca Valley Town Council member and Mayor, Bob Leone, 77, told Z107.7 news he is planning on running as a write-in candidate for Town Council on the November Ballot.

Leone said he is going to step forward because he does not think the current council truly represents all the residents of the Town and are being told what to do by Town Manager Mark Nuaimi.

Leone said that when first Chad Mayes, then Frank Luckino had resigned, he had applied, but was never even selected for an interview, that led him to believe that the subsequent appointments were both predetermined.

Leone said he is frustrated that the Town has insulated itself from its own residents.

As an example he said – quote, “Why is it that the council votes for three Town officials to get car allowances, then the lay-off the front office staff? Now if you try to call anyone in the Town, you get an voice mail system and can’t actually talk to anyone, they may or may not return your call, and it takes days.”

Leone said he was contacted by a group of citizens who asked him to go through the write-in process and he agreed. “ Read more
