Yucca Valley, CA– During the above time period, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, conducted DUI saturation patrols in the Town of Yucca and the City of Twentynine Palms. During the operations four uniformed officers in marked patrol units were assigned to each area and conducted traffic enforcement stops for equipment and moving violations as well as potential DUI drivers. Those drivers who were found to be operating a vehicle while under the influence were arrested and booked in to the Morongo Basin jail in Joshua Tree.
During the eight hour operation a total of (75) traffic enforcement stops were made, six DUI drivers were arrested, one arrest for a drug related charge, one arrest for public intoxication, one arrest for a non alcohol or drug related charge, fourteen sobriety tests were conducted, four driving while suspended citations were issued, two unlicensed driver citations were issued, fourteen equipment or registration citations were issued, and three vehicles were towed and stored.
