Palms N Paws Animal Shelter will host its first ever Cat Adoption Day on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at its facility at 7086 Bullion Avenue in Twentynine Palms, one block south of Sullivan Road. The family-friendly event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is being sponsored by the VCA 29 Palms Animal Hospital in cooperation with the City of Twentynine Palms Animal Control Department.

The purpose of Cat Adoption Day is to help save a pet’s life and to promote finding shelter cats and kittens their forever homes. All adoptions made on this day will include free benefits for the adopted pets, including first vaccines, microchip, and spay/neuter fee waivers.

Festivities during the two-hour event include face painting and activities for kids, raffles, a bake sale, hot dogs, soda and chips, and an information booth. All proceeds and donations raised during the Cat Adoption Day will go to Palms N Paws Animal Shelter.

For more information about the July 28 event or for directions to Palms N Paws in Twentynine Palms, call (760) 367-0157.

Ms. Waite is a long time resident of the Morongo Basin and Founding Publisher of the Sun Runner Magazine.
