To recap. . .  The regular Oversight Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday July 11, 2012 was cowardly cancelled without explanation.

There are NO new meetings or catch-up meetings scheduled at this time.

The Board —  or whomever is pulling the strings —  wants to send the message to the community that there is no business of the people that need be addressed. Thus the empty seats.

Conversely, there is a great deal of the people’s business that ought to be attended to concerning the Oversight Board and the city.

Moreover, there is a personal ethical situation with one of the Board members that ought to be addressed.

In addition, there is an issue concerning the lack of transparency on the part of Councilman/ Mayor Cole that should not be swept under the rug.

John Cole exhibited a lapse of personal ethics and responsibility by not disclosing his family ties with Board member  Korina Cole prior to her being seated as the represenative for the Hi-Desert Medical Center.

Korina Cole displayed a personal lapse of ethics to the Hi-Desert Medical Center by not revealing her two family connections, one with Mayor Cole and the other is her bond vis-à-vis a marriage to another high-ranking former city of 29 Palms official and now high ranking city employee Kevin Cole.

The HDMC used their slot on the Oversight Board to put in place someone from their facility who would speak for for the medical center, not for Councilman Cole, her husband Kevin or for the city. From the recorded votes so far, Korina Cole is not speaking for the medical center, she has been a lapdog for the city.

Why no statutory Oversight Board meetings? Why are there none scheduled? Who is pulling the strings? Are they like the Cowardly Lion character in The Wizard of Oz? 

If the Oversight Board does not want to hold regular meetings to deal with issues and the people’s business, then kindly step down.  The Board needs to take control of whomever may be pulling their strings.

Korina Cole please step down – resign now. Allow the Hi-Desert Medical Center to appoint another member to the Oversight Board who has no personal conflicts of interest and who will properly look after the best interests of the medical center as mandated by California law.

Korina Cole is quoted as saying, ” I am only one vote.”  Reliable sources inform that Korina Cole has her sights on a seat on the 29 Palms City Council. Imagine that?

OVERSIGHT BOARD MEMBERS SCHEDULE AND HOLD YOUR MEETING!
