Yucca Valley, Ca.-Opinion.
Town Manager, Mark Nuaimi, “squeezes” the Council to bump up the authorized loan level from March of $635,000 to $1,985.000 to support his “Fontana Team” of C.O.R.E Senior Housing.
At the July 11th meeting, Nuaimi will once again, slam the Council members up against the wall with a rush-last minute-must support-Tax funding round for the July TCAC, Tax Credit Allocation Committee.
He did the same thing on March 20th using the same “must-do-now” pressure tactics for March 22, 2012 TCAC Cycle. There was no awarding of funds with that round…..hmmmmm. Nuaimi NOW states with a higher funding level “would have received funding in the March TCAC competition.” See stamp page 106. (Put your boots on folks, it’s getting really stinky!)
Slowly letting out the line before setting the hook, the Nuaimi is setting up this Council. Mesmerized by the Nuaimi, they are following his spend-more-dough-now tactics for Senior Housing project that is becoming a monster.
The spineless Town Council should realize there is wisdom in waiting to see how everything will shake out with the future of Senior Housing and town finances and not authorize a higher spending level. Why didn’t Nuaimi bring this up in May or June?
The Sky Harbor Five-Stuck in a Money Pit
The Yucca Valley Town Council are inexperienced and they are in over their head regarding the Senior Housing Project. Town Manager, Mark Nuaimi, leads them around with his weekly “updates” (aka, marching orders) and the Yucca Valley Town Council follow his lead like lemmings.
The Lemmings are stuck in quick sand and will be getting our town further into debt with the National C.O.R.E. Senior Housing project.
The Town Council agenda of July 11, 2012 lists seven bullet points on stamp page 102, for the two notorious Councilmen that do not read their agendas, merely skimming the information.
Then the Staff Report ( stamp page 103) repeats some of these same bullet points, adding a few others for a total of eight, again for the lazy Councilmen that do not read their agendas.
As is Nuaimi’s style, he crowds the agenda and staff reports with the paper trail for added emphasis to the progress of the project further sinking our town in to a quicksand money hole.
The Council will show their wisdom, or lack of wisdom, tomorrow at the Yucca Valley Town Council meeting held at 6pm.
Please develop a spine and stand up to Nuaimi’s “rush tactics” he is using on you to get a higher authorized spending commitment from $635,000 to $1,985.000.
At a certain point, the deal doesn’t pencil out anymore and you may have to walk away from the whole deal. Why the rush job?
