It’s like a Light that went on……

SILVER2 300x300 Its like a Light that went on......This is not the way it was supposed to be in this country. We are a better people.

It is amazing how for a paltry sum of $120,000, Wal-Mart was able to buy the support of the MBCA for their Wal-Mart Super Center. I’m not saying the Wal-Mart project is not good, not at all, I’m all for it. It is the in your face fact, that these bleeding hearts were so easily bought and so quickly abandoned their values for 30 pieces of silver.

I contend and would be willing to buy a beer for all that read this, that that was the plan all along. It seems rather obvious that the filing of a law suit soon after Wal-Mart announced their expansion plans, by the local environmentalist, that the plan was not to stop Wal-Mart, but to harass and perplex them to a point that they would pay anything for our little group of money grubbers to go away.

I’ve really been bothered with the knowledge that the folks at the Morongo Basin Conservation Association have so little in the way of ethics and core values. For a lousy $120K they might even turn a blind eye to BBQing a Siberian White Tiger or deep frying a California Condor.

I’ve been maligned for years by these people because I stood my ground, did not sell out my core values and even when I was crushed by local government, I stood tall, maintained my dignity and took my loss as a lesson learned. All during this time I wondered why these people who talk so glowingly about social justice did nothing. Well now it is abundantly clear why…. There wasn’t a payday at the end of the rainbow.

You ever wonder why these kinds of people use squirrels and sage brush as an excuse to swindle and extort Corporate America? Easy, they don’t have to share the loot and critters don’t complain.

In the name of environmental justice, the courts are filled to the brim with frivolous law suits that are intended not to be heard by a jury but to be settled in a back room deals that transfers the wealth of Americas Producers into the hands of greedy self-proclaimed do-gooders.

You would think if the habitat of the desert tortoise was so god damned important not even a mountain of gold could move a tree hugger, Ah, but that ain’t so. It’s “show me the money” and all is forgiven. Why is it that those who say they speak for the flora and fauna in reality only want to make a deal? Who the shit are these folks to think they speak for anything? Come on did Wiley Coyote order these bums from the Acme Catalog?

Stop, look at the record. Either they have their hand out or they are swindling old ladies out of their families legacy in to name of “Harvey” the invisible rabbit, or they have some builder buried in CEQA bullshit until he cries uncle. Then they come to the rescue with their own “Open Space” consultant and soon, after the ransom has been paid, a completed environmental impact statement complete with support from any and all environmentalist non-profits wishing for a little touch are in full and complete support of the project, is in the hands of their accomplices at the proper government agency. Its a money game folks, and we are the ones getting robbed.

This is nut’s. The whole country, hell the whole world is being held for ransom by these loons. The economy is in the tank and a large part of it is when jobs and industry left our shores for better greener pastures. When our own governments gives more rights and privilege to bugs and lizards at the expense of your’s and my liberty and financial security, you know it is time to say STOP! It is time we take back our State and Country.

These people have ruined America. I think it is about time we recognize that and throw the bums out and send the do-gooders to the rooms without supper. Its time we return to the foundational values that our founders envisioned. It is time we trim the fat.

    Dan, oh Dan,
Are you trying to be over-the-top ridiculous, or is it simply a natural talent of yours? “For a lousy $120K they might even turn a blind eye to genocide?” Uh, getting WalMart to agree to funding the Mojave Desert Land Trust -- an organization that wasn’t involved in the litigation -- $120,000, as a mitigation to building an enormous superstore, while possibly leaving another big box empty in town, leads you to thinking the MBCA somehow could lead to an agreement to complicity in genocide for cash? That’s truly whacked.
Uh, that isn’t a stretch of imagination that I’m seeing here, but rather irrational raving. We’re not talking about stirring the pot to get people talking, unless you want them seriously questioning your sanity. I would think that you might want to argue on topic, instead of out of your mind.
Nobody has to agree with the decision reached in this situation, but while you’re quick to go on the attack over $120,000 you deem extorted by do-gooders, you ignore the report that WalMart employees had their health care subsidized by California taxpayers at a rate of what, $98 million a year? OK….. as if we, the public, don’t get extorted by corporate America (or our government, or anyone who gets the opportunity).
How about if we agree to actually discuss the issues, instead of demonize our neighbors in a way that would even make Rush Limbaugh embarassed?

Oh Steve oh Steve did you know that Wal-Mart is forking over $120K to a non-existent, non-profit, that lacks tax-exempt status has never been registered with either the State Attorney General, The Secretary of State, the franchise tax board or the IRS?

I’ve spent the whole day trying to legitimize them and have run into a complete blank, both online and with calls to various state agencies. They never heard of “Mojave Desert Land Trust.”

As you are listed as a advisory board member, could you tell me how the “Trust” can say, ” Donations to The Mojave Desert Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) charity, are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our tax identification number is: 72-1603033,” When both the State and the IRS say they are not in their records.

Now this might be considered an oversight as it turned out with the 29 Palms CC, when they failed to file their annuals, but the CC was listed on the various state sites, just delinquent. But to not even register a blip on the radar?

Lucy, someone’s got some ‘esplaining’ to do.

Uh, Dan, don’t you think that in order for the $120,000 to be paid to the MDLT, they would have to provide proof of their non-profit status, or that they would have to be able to satisfy WalMart’s attorney’s scrutiny? I think yes.
When was the last time you saw a duck?

Why I was right close to a gaggle of ducks just the other day down at the VA.

Well I bet that they will be closely scrutinizing those docs now that they’ve been given the heads up.

I wouldn’t want to be the joker to endorse the back of that check if it turns out they are not on the up and up.

So what are the chances of getting a look see at those 501c(3) docs with the exemption letters attached? Huh? pretty please.

No problem. See a need fill a need.

All 501 whatever’s are required by law to maintain on-hand for public viewing their IRS 990 form.

The one that you have was signed on 11/6/2009.

It is of interest that on the last page schedule O, that there is a comment concerning disclosure of financial statements.

My interest is that, if memory servers me Councilman Spears asked the Twentynine Palms Chamber for those and was told “NO”.

Hmmmm, I would think that under United States Code, Title 26, Section 6104 they would be required to.
