Now here is a trifecta of stupidity….
On March 5, 2010, members of the Specialized Enforcement Division, High Desert Gang Team were eating lunch at the Chipotle Restaurant, at 19179 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley. While there, three subjects who identified themselves as working for United Restoration Ministries came into the establishment to Hawk and Vend candy for money to several other patrons in the location with out a license. The deputies were not wearing marked Sheriff’s uniforms as they were working a special assignment
One of the team members warned the subjects to leave the place of business because of the misdemeanor violation. Employees from the Chipotle Restaurant also told the subjects to leave. Two were escorted out of the restaurant by employees. One of the individuals, Ulianov Esquilble 25 of Riverside, hid in the back and was later told to leave after an employee saw him.
Once outside of the restaurant Esquible looked directly at one of the team members at the table and mouthed he was going to “Kill” him. Esquilble was subsequently arrested for Criminal Threats. He was later found to also have an outstanding warrant.
Arturo Penaloza 22 and Jose Perez 41 both of Riverside, were later arrested for Obstruction of a Peace Officer.
