300px extortion for dummies MBCA Extorts $120,000 from Wal MartI guess Wal-Mart didn’t get the memo either. Using the “Junk Science” of “green house emissions” the Morongo Basin Conservation Association (MBCA) has extorted $120,000 from Wal-Mart as a condition to build the Wal-Mart Super Center. In other words, you pay the MBCA $120,000 and they will support any damned thing you want. Funny how dead Presidents can co-opt a supposed group looking out for the little critters so they can use that money to further attack public use of public lands. How about this little letter being emailed (below) to the MBCA membership?

Dear MBCA Members and Friends,

On behalf of the Coalition for Environmental Integrity in Yucca Valley, CEIYV, we would like to announce a major settlement involving the Yucca Valley Wal-Mart Super Center and its Negotiated Resolution of a consolidated civil action.

There will be other press releases in the near future from other involved organizations (e.g. Center for Biological Diversity) to explain the far reaching landmark effects of this Wal-Mart Settlement.

The portions of the Settlement directly affecting the Yucca Valley Wal-Mart Super Center are on the bottom third of the second page of the attached letter.

The critical portion is quoted below:

In addition, CEIYV, CBD and Wal-Mart recognize the values of preserving sensitive habitat as well as preserving and promoting economic vitality and growth within the Town’s retail sector. To further these shared values, the parties agreed that:

Wal-Mart will contribute $120,000 to the Mojave Desert Land Trust for Land conservation in the Morongo Basin; and

A mutually agreeable consultant will be retained to prepare a “Retail Sector Strategies Report” to assess the Town’s retail sector and recommend measures to proactively preserve and promote economic vitality and growth within it.

Finally, believing that the Agreement makes substantial progress toward eliminating the Yucca Valley store’s greenhouse gas emissions, CEIYV and CBD have agreed not to object to, or disrupt, the opening of the Wal-Mart Yucca Valley store, subject to one exception. The Agreement acknowledges CEIYV’s right, if it so chooses, to endorse an initiative that restricts or prohibits the development of a new “discount superstore” in the Town.

The full letter is attached to this email.

MBCA will be informing you in the near future about a possible Yucca Valley initiative regarding big box stores.

Sincerely,
David Fick,
Vice-President, MBCA

YuccaCityLetter

So there you go. It has nothing to do with green grass, but more to do with green cash.

Back on November 23, 2009 I wrote about an article in the WSJ titled:  Hacked Emails Show Climate Science Ridden with Rancor – WSJ.com, the following:

Global Whining: A clear picture of Deceit | Cactus Thorns

Here we go. Just like many of us have been saying the Science does not back the Hype. It turns out even the pro global warming scientist know that man-made climate change is not only questionable but pure and simple Junk Science.

We as a community should be ashamed of those few environmental whack jobs that have made it a cottage industry of suing businesses as a way of extorting even more money to promote their twisted agenda. All it takes is money.

I would have liked to see Wal-Mart to have taken the full weight of their corporate treasury and fought MBCA and CBD and make them prove that their “Junk Science” even holds water. I guess it was easier to pay them off rather than humiliate them. Too bad.

Hey Wally World….. I need a new laptop you think if I write a glowing letter in support of that Super Center, that you guys will be shipping one right out to me?

This just makes me sick. The town of Yucca Valley gives the go ahead for a Walmart and then these terrorist environmental organizations attack and extort money from them. This is what is wrong in America. This is what drives up prices for the average consumer whether it be food, shelter or health care. The Mojave Desert Land Trust and others are the lowest form of scum on the planet. I pity them

Why is it that the extreme enviromentalist org’s keep popping up in any business venture in the basin. We know who the players are, the same old gang of misfits. Are they protecting something else besides their vacation rentals that we don’t know about? Extortion is the right phrase on this subject.
