On 02/08/10 at about 3:30 AM, officers from the California Highway Patrol were sent to the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 south of State Route 138 for a vehicle that had struck the rear of a disabled tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder at that location.
When they arrived, they found a 20 year-old male resident of Fort Irwin, with multiple injuries.
Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the male subject dead at the scene at 3:45 AM.
Name Released: Michael Joe Pana, 20 of Ft. Irwin, the date of the accident was corrected from 02082010 to 02072010. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
