Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics

The La Quinta Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will be giving new meaning to “Protect and Serve” when officers donate their time as servers at Applebee’s Restaurant. While waiting on the public hand and foot, officers will raise money for a great cause. All tips collected by the officers will be donated to the Special Olympics of Southern California. Bring family and friends to enjoy a great meal, great service, and meet Special Olympics athletes.

Special Olympics changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition. Children and adults with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image. All tips are tax-deductible and support sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

I wanted to give this a “bump”, as I have just heard from a friend who serves at Applebees in Yucca Valley that this event will take place locally tonight starting at 6 pm. Please come out to support our local fund raising.
