Yucca Valley, California- With all the recent talk about the “Sky Harbor Five” Town Council members living within a few short blocks from each other in an upscale neighborhood named, Sky Harbor, it seems that HDWD Director Stadum has got the “fever.”
Following the trend to live in the right neighborhood with his cronies, Sky Harbor still has the plain zip code of 92284, which is the zip code for all of Yucca Valley. Look for these residents to ask for their own zip code down the road, ahem……90210 is taken, Beverly Hills, California. The very wealthy residents have designated their parcels- “Upper Sky Harbor” versus “Lower Sky Harbor.”
With Bob Stadum facing re-election in November 2012, he seems to be confident this the best move for him. He will be in the neighborhood with the likes of Assemblyman Paul Cook, HDWD Staff member Mark Bain, and Stadum’s BFF fellow Director Sheldon Hough who lives in Upper Sky Harbor.
Stadum’s new home is located in Phase Two of the wastewater treatment project but you can expect there will be more pressure to have Phase Two and Phase Three (Upper Sky Harbor) removed from having to pay or install sewers.
In light of the recent uprising of the everyday common folk struggling to survive….this seems like a recipe for trouble to me.
Also-Sky Harbor Flats is on the most Northern border, at a lower altitude, receiving the brunt of accelerated rain run off and flooding from the development of the Upper Sky Harbor homes. Some are built in in areas designed HR(Hillside Reserve)but received permission(wink-wink)to build extra buildings and sub-divide which is not allowed according to the HR designation.
It has been proposed that the residents at the bottom of the hill pay a much higher portion of any flood control construction because……ready…get this…”They receive the greatest benefit.”
And all town leaders have to do is cross the road to attend the same religious institution. Meantime, the ability of residents to vote for their Town Council members was preempted. I know God didn’t have anything to do with that.
