Anza, CA-- On Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 6:37 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Hemet Station responded to the area of Rouse Ridge in the unincorporated area of Riverside County near Anza, after receiving information a deer hunter was stranded in the area. The hunter had become dehydrated and called out to other hunters in the area for help.
Members of the Riverside County Mountain Rescue Unit were called out and began a search of the area. At 1:10 AM, the hunter was found in a ravine and escorted to safety. The hunter was hydrated by medical personnel and did not require any further medical attention.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind hunting and hiking enthusiasts to carry proper equipment for any outdoor excursion.
