Topock, AZ- When ramrodding a major criminal enterprise Mr. Potter failed to take into account the fact that his idiot children and he himself were color blind.
Mohave County, AZ Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Leon Potter Sr., 44, of Topock, early Friday (9/30) morning for obtaining utility services fraudulently, such activity being a felony.
Thursday (9/29) evening at approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies responded to a theft report at a residence in the 5300 block of Casa Grande Drive. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the 82-year-old male victim. The victim reported that when he returned to his residence he observed his neighbors had a power cord connected to his electricity.
Deputies observed an Day-glow orange electric cord running east from a receptacle to the neighbor’s property. Deputies attempted to contact the neighbors without success. At about 5:20 a.m., follow-up investigations led deputies back to the 5300 block of Casa Grande Drive.
Deputies contacted the neighbor identified as Potter. During conversations with Potter, he said that it must have been one of his kids that connected the power. (“Hey Johnny, run down the street and plug this cord into the neighbors house for daddy.”)
Further conversations with Potter, he said that he understands that it’s his responsibility because it’s his residence. Potter was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.
