Following is a quick pdf Link to Yucca Valley Form 700s filed by Town Council Members, Planning Commissioners, Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager and all other town officials whom are required to report their Economic Interests.
For the second consecutive year Planning Commissioner Tim Humphreville has submitted FPPC Form 700s without listing the address and status of four (4) real property interests. Only one of those, a family home, is protected by privacy under Government Code Sect. 6254.21.
Since Commissioner Humphreville is a builder and developer — how is the public informed when his 700 Form lacks transparency? How is there transparency when conflicts or perceived conflicts of interest are not known? How is there transparency if a public official stands to materially benefit by his or her vote and nobody knows where all of an officials’ real properties are located?
This may be reported to the FPPC (they are self-funded and fines support the public agency) via telephone or by an advisory opinion via an email request on the FPPC Internet sight. Perhaps they can sort it out. Reporting perceived violations to the FPPC may be done autonomously if desired.
Reporting financial interests and the locations of property becomes critically important as Yucca Valley may soon be dishing out sewer project contracts in the tens of million of taxpayers dollars to builders and developers and construction sub-contractors.
