Victorville burglars put new twist on flashmob

Victorville, CA– On Monday, May 16th, 2011, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Deputies of the Victorville Police Station were dispatched to a commercial burglary in progress at the So Cal Logistics Airport (old George AFB) in Victorville. The reporting parties were employees of the City that had blocked a suspect’s vehicle at the location.

As deputies neared the location, suspect Ausbun fled a nearby building on foot and was detained after a short foot pursuit by Deputy John Vega. Deputy Joseph Garay arrived at the location where the initial vehicle was blocked in and detained Duran and Figueroa. While checking the area Deputy Heather Forsythe happened upon Swanson and Larsen who were attempting to burglarize yet another building at the airport.

Through investigation it was learned that three separate burglaries were in progress when deputies arrived and all five suspects are in custody. Suspects were arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail on charges of PC459-Commercial Burglary.

Deputies Arrested the Following Suspects:

  1. Susie Swanson, age 49 of Victorville (burglary #3)
  2. Mark Larson, Age 50 of Victorville (burglary #3)
  3. Dustin Ausbun, Age 18 of Adelanto (burglary #1)
  4. Calvin Duran, Age 50 of Victorville (burglary #2)
  5. Rene Figueroa, Age 37 of Hesperia (burglary #2)
