San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Department
On 04/18/2011 at 3:26 PM, a hiker called 911 to report a dead body located 1.5 miles southeast of the Deep Creek spillway, near the Deek Creek Dam in Apple Valley. Paramedics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene at 5 PM and confirmed the death of an adult male. A bicycle was found nearby and it appeared he may have been riding his bike and had falllen off a trail. When his identity has been determined by fingerprints and next of kin notified, his name will be released. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
