FLASHBACK TO YEAR 2009-On Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:26 a.m., Deputy Jeff Collins from the Apple Valley Police Station responded to a medical aid call in the 22000 Block of Sioux Road.

Once on scene, Collins was directed inside the residence where a father and son were fighting. Deputy Collins entered the residence and found the father attempting to detain his son.

The son claimed to have a gun and was combative with his father and Deputy Collins.

The suspect refused to comply with repeated commands to stop resisting and was tased.

The taser deployment was ineffective and the suspect continued to be combative.

Additional deputies arrived and assisted Deputy Collins with the non-compliant suspect.

The suspect was eventually restrained in handcuffs.

A handgun, later found to be a pellet gun, was recovered next to the suspect.

Two deputies received minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

The suspect was booked into West Valley Detention Center for PC243 (c)(1) Assault on a Peace Officer.
