NEEDLES, CA– Duane Stowers 54 of Needles, took two computers into a repair shop to be repaired in the City of Bullhead, Az. Once there, it was discovered the computers contained suspected child pornography. An investigation was initiated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department when they were contacted by Detectives of the Bullhead City Police Department.
The computers were turned over to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for examination and a forensic investigation was conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department High Tech Crimes unit. They discovered child pornography images on the computers. Investigators believe the images were downloaded from the internet and Stowers was not in any of them. He was found to be in possession of over 100 images of Child Pornography.
On January 24, 2011 San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detectives arrested Duane Lee Stowers for possession of Child Pornography where he was booked into West Valley Detention Center.
On February 2, 2011 he pled guilty in Barstow Superior Court to possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to two years in a California State Prison.
