Mira Loma, CA– On March 14, 2007, about 1:30 PM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the Hometown Mobile Home Park located at 6130 Camino Real, Jurupa. Deputies arrived at the mobile home park and located four male gunshot victims.
One of the males was transported to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition and was shot in the upper torso. The other three males were transported to Riverside Community Regional Medical Center and had non-life threatening wounds.
The gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in critical condition succumbed to his injuries on March 14, 2007, about 4:45 PM. The victim is identified as Jose Rodriguez, 25-year-old male of Mira Loma.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit was called out to investigate the shooting. It is currently unknown how many suspects may be involved and it is believed one of the suspect’s vehicle is a white Ford F-150 towing a red cement mixer.
Early in this investigation, Manuel Gilbert Campos, 35 years, was identified as the suspect in the homicide of Jose Rodriguez. A felony warrant for Campos’ arrest was issued in 2007.
On January 24, 2011, approximately 5:30 a.m., members of the Inland Regional Apprehension Team (IRAT) located Manuel Gilbert Campos at a residence in the 200 block of E. Parkridge Dr., in the city of Corona.
Campos was taken into custody without incident. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit took custody of Campos and he was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for homicide.
