Tanya Marie Petro, 33 of Lake Elsinore

On Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Ronald Wayne Paoletto was booked for the murder of Tanya Marie Petro. Paoletto remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to go to court on January 13, 2011.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has been conducting the missing person investigation of Tanya Petro. Tanya was reported missing by her family on January 7, 2011, and was last seen leaving her apartment complex in Lake Elsinore on January 4, 2011. As their investigation continued, investigators were led to San Bernardino County. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators have been assisting Riverside Investigators in their investigation which led them to a remote area of Landers.

On Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the body of Tanya Petro was located in Vans Ranch Pipe Canyon Wash in Landers. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is now conducting a homicide investigation. Investigators will be interviewing Tanya Petro’s boyfriend, Ronald Wayne Paoletto, who was arrested on Monday, January 10, 2011 in Hesperia by Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for violation of PC290.
