SOS …—… SOS …—…

OUR NATION IN DISTRESS

I am going to be serious with this post because it is time to inform you, this will not be a “Happy New Year!” I am a positive person and I have to tell you, I am positively concerned about our future as a Nation. There are troubled waters ahead especially for the citizens of California and residents of this little town of Yucca Valley.

I have never been a big fan of seeing our American Flag flying upside down as an international recognized symbol of “distress” because I love my country and I do not want to be appear disrespectful.

While we may have the right to fly our Nation’s flag upside down or right side up, is often the fuel to provide heated arguments among patriotic Americans, crossing age barriers and political parties, as to the true meaning of flying our flag upside down. The one thing they will agree on is our Nation and the state of California is upside down!

Many millions of Americans are now “upside down” in their mortgages, meaning that they owe more money than their home is worth. Our Nation owes trillions of dollars in debt, the state of California is in a financial crisis and spending is out of control. Oh yes, and if you own property in Yucca Valley, a lien will be recorded to pay for a $125 million dollar sewer system. …—… SOS

Yes, this is the financial devastation of being “upside down” but what about the lack of morality and decency that is also a problem for our Nation. No longer allowed to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in schools, “One Nation Under God,” removing the Ten Commandments from public buildings among other political correct movements is contributing to the moral decay of the youth of our Nation, they are being raised without any values or sense of right or wrong. Our country is morally “upside down.” …—… SOS

As I see it, you will need to prepare for the next two years of turbulent times to protect your health, home and family. This next chapter of this Great Recession is not for the weak of heart. In my opinion, it is an undeclared (financial) war on our Nation.

Here is sage financial advice from Boyce Watkins,Phd.

“Cut costs, fine new revenue streams: Right now on a piece of paper, write down a list of all the places where you get your money. If you only have 1-2 items on that list, then you are in serious danger of having your income supply shut down if things go bad for your employer. Consider finding a ‘side hustle’ that can supplement your income: It might be selling Avon, cutting grass, holding a part-time job, baby sitting for the neighbors or doing hair for your friends. Find that extra path of getting what you need, since there is no such thing as job security when you’ve only got one job.”

I urge you to eat healthy, and limit your television viewing to a maximum of two hours a day or less. The negative images of despair and world chaos will destroy your feelings of hope. I call this media terrorism and all you have to do is “Just Say No!” Remember, you have to take care of yourself first before you can help others.

These hard times will not kill you but the stress will cause havoc with your health. These times of financial trouble will not be the end of the world but it will be very painful. To survive, you must focus on eating healthy, taking walks and removing yourself from all the electronic data flying at you from television, Internet, FaceBook, radio, emails, YouTube, cable and satellite. Find a quiet corner and listen to your own heart beat.

We will survive and we will be stronger because of this hardship. I have confidence our citizens will use this recession as a long-term lesson about the values of saving, eating right, managing money and rethinking our priorities.

We are a great Nation and we need to return to our core values, One Nation Under God.

May God Bless America.
