Secret Service Serves a Search Warrant

Palm Desert, Ca– Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department Special Enforcement Team (SET), and United States Secret Service are conducting an investigation into counterfeit US currency. Today they conducted a search warrant at a residence located in the 74800 block of Borrego Dr., Palm Desert. During the service of the search warrant counterfeit US currency was recovered.

Arrested at the location was Steven Jacobs, age 51 of Palm Desert, and Autumn Loza, age 24 of Palm Desert, for being in possession of counterfeit US currency. Jacobs and Loza were taken into custody without incident.

The Palm Desert Police Department would like to remind all citizens and business owners to look at the money you receive. Compare a suspect note with a genuine note of the same denomination and series, paying attention to the quality of printing and paper characteristics. Look for differences, not similarities.
