San Jacinto, Ca– On Thursday, December 2, 2010, an officer from the San Jacinto Police Department was dispatched to a residence located on the 2200 block of Lake Park Drive for a non-criminal call for service. While inside the residence, the officer saw sexually explicit photographic images of subjects he believed were under the age of eighteen. A records check of the resident, 53-year-old James O’Neill, who is a known sex offender registrant, revealed he was previously convicted for possession of child pornography. As a result, O’Neill’s computer and several DVDs were seized for further investigation.
On Friday, December 3, 2010, officers from the San Jacinto Police Department obtained a search warrant for O’Neill’s residence. As a result of the search, several hundred images of child pornography, and two handguns were seized.
James O’Neill was arrested for possession of child pornography, violating the conditions of his sex offender registrant status, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility for the listed charges.
