Temecula, Ca– Over the past few weeks, deputies from the Hemet and Southwest Patrol Stations have been investigating the theft of farm equipment and off-road vehicles. The thefts have primarily occurred in the Sage area of the county which borders both patrol stations.
During the past few weeks, deputies and investigators have recovered a Skip Loader valued at approximately $10,000 dollars, an antique three-wheel Case tractor valued at approximately $15,000 dollars, an off-road vehicle valued at approximately $5000. Also recovered were a utility trailer and sprayer valued at several hundred dollars.
During the course of the investigation, deputies revealed information which ultimately led to the identity of a suspect in the thefts. The suspect, identified as Donald Martin, 47 years, was taken into custody today by deputies from the Temecula Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET). He was booked at the Southwest Detention Center for several felony theft-related charges and a parole hold.
Still outstanding in the investigation is a Yanmar diesel tractor, red in color, with a bucket loader. The tractor is valued at several thousand dollars and the victim has offered a reward for its return.
