pedistelVictorville Police Station has responded to multiple reports of theft of Charter Cable equipment within the past two weeks. Throughout Victorville there are green colored metal boxes that house the equipment that keeps grids of customers online with their services. Unknown suspect(s) are breaking into the boxes and stealing the routers.

Charter employees have recently responded to notifications of area outages in the area of US395 and Mesa View and nearby, to find that the box has been broken into and the equipment stolen. It’s unclear if the equipment is being stolen to be scrapped or to be resold to someone in the industry.

Victorville Police Department is asking for the public’s help. If you observe anyone tampering with these boxes please contact Sheriff’s Dispatch at 760-245-4211 with any suspect descriptions, vehicle descriptions and/or the suspect’s last known direction of travel if you can obtain it without putting yourself in harms way.
