Yucca Valley, Ca— The Morongo Basin Mental Health Services has an Environmental Prevention program and within that program a coalition called the READY, AIM, FIRE coalition. The coalition is partnered with some key agencies in the community. The coalition works on reducing the problems associated with drugs and alcohol use in our youth throughout the entire community. How they accomplish this is by engaging the community and looking at long-term policy solutions.
Currently, the coalition is recruiting community members to come participate with them and their fight.
The coalition meets every 4th Thursday of the Month. The meeting is located at the Morongo Basin Counseling and Recovery Center located at 55475 Santa Fe Tr., Yucca Valley, CA 92284 they meet in Group Room 1 which is located WEST side of the bldg in the back. Meeting time is from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. Snacks are usually provided. The next meeting will be held October 28th, 2010.
I encourage parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors, babysitters or anyone who is interested to attend. Come and be a part of the solution.
For those who are interested please contact Mariah Rowden or Diana DeMartino at 760-369-1074 Ext.301 for more information.
