On Saturday, August 16, 2014, a male suspect approached the female victim in the front yard of her friend’s residence at knife-point and forced her to walk away from the residence. The suspect told her if she screamed he would stab her. He directed her about a block from the location, forced her to the ground and attempted to rape her while holding the knife to her throat. The victim’s friends came looking for her which distracted the suspect and allowed the victim to kick the suspect in the face and run away. The suspect then fled the area on foot and was not located. Through investigation, the suspect was positively identified as Lynel Serek Roduk, a 29 year old Filipino male.
Roduk is known to frequent the Break-N-Run Bar in 29 Palms and is known to sexually harass females in the 29 Palms area. Roduk is currently a transient in the Morongo Basin and has no known ties to the area. A warrant has been issued for his arrest in this case, and he should be considered armed and dangerous. Any information regarding his whereabouts should be directed to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station, (760) 366-4175.

Some of the folks we need to recognize at the Public Affairs Office that help get the stories out are, “Arden Wiltshire” (awiltshire(at)sbcsd.org), “Cynthia, Beavers” (cbeavers(at)sbcsd.org), and “Jodi Miller” (jmiller(at)sbcsd.org)
Locally we might get stories written by Corporal Rick Millard, Captain Don Miller and others.
